Experts warn of influenza spread
Say this is an epidemic disease and needs immediate control

Ameeruddin Medical College Principal Professor Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab has said that control on diseases was not possible without creating awareness among the masses. He encouraged people to work on a war footing basis against viruses like H1N1, commonly known as influenza.
He was addressing a clinical symposium held at Lahore General Hospital where Gynecology Department Head Prof Farhat Naz, Medicine Head Dr Imran Aslam Khan, Pathology Assistant Professor Dr Amina Sadaf, Community Medicine Head Dr Syed Razi Haider Zaidi, Pulmonology Assistant Professor Dr Javed Magsi and Dr Salman Shakeel addressed and highlighted types, causes, complications, preventive measures and ways to treat the virus. They said that symptoms of influenza were normally seasonal flu, but could be more complicated and even life threatening.

They added that this was an epidemic disease and needed immediate control. They called on pregnant women and patients already suffering from any kind of lung disease to remain careful and contact their doctor immediately if they see any change in their flu.
PGMI Ameer Uddin Medical College Principal Dr Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab, in his address, said that as per the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, awareness seminars, symposiums and training workshops were being held regularly and this seminar was also one of the series.
