SARGODHA: On the orders of Additional District and Sessions Judge Arif Khan Niazi, the police have registered a case against nine police officials for allegedly torturing a woman.

Court officials said that Amanullah, a resident of Kotmomin, alleged in his petition that Kotmomin police station SHO along with eight other policemen barged into his house and took Rs340,000. The police officials also tortured his wife and children, he alleged. On his petition, the judge ordered the police to register a case against the accused police officials.

Meanwhile, a man was gunned down over a dispute in the limits of Laksian police on Wednesday. Police said Ghulam Shabbir was shot dead by accused Muzammil over a dispute. The accused to fled the scene. Police claimed to have arrested 23 outlaws and seized narcotics and illegal weapons from them.

The police confiscated five kilogrammes of heroin, two kilogrammes of hashish, 340 bottles of liquor, six pistols, two guns and two rifles with rounds and cartridges from them.
