Burnt bridge has completely disconnected many villages from each other

CHITRAL: Unidentified persons set a wooden bridge ablaze that was constructed over a river at Ujnoo Village in Tarko tehsil of the district.

The bridge that was set on fire last night has burnt completely disconnecting many villages from each other.

Local sources said that students were the worst affected by the act of the unidentified arsonist. The bridge was the sole link for the students to reach school people said explaining that there were no alternative arrangements to ferry them across.

A social worker and former Nazim of union council Khot Sher Muhammad said that around 2,000 families, who have been living on both sides of the river, are affected.

He said that the people of the area demanded of the district as well as the provincial government to approve funds for the construction of a bridge for their community, to no avail.
