IHC issues warrants of father for not producing his daughter
The court also issued arrest warrants for the girl’s paternal uncle and aunt
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued arrest-warrants for members of a family for not producing a three-year old girl despite court directives to do so. Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddique of the IHC was hearing a petition filed by Sadia Malik, the mother of the minor, who is seeking recovery of the girl from her former husband Muhammad Asif. The bench expressed displeasure over the non-appearance of the respondents before the court and the repeated non-compliance of its orders by them. The court issued arrest warrants for the girl’s father, paternal uncle and aunt. At the last hearing of the case, Justice Siddique had strictly directed the family of the girl to produce her by September 6, but the order was flouted by the family. The court adjourned the case until September 7.
