Pakistani startups can now apply for Google Launchpad Accelerator programme

Selected startups will be invited to Google headquarter in San Francisco for two weeks all-expense-paid training

Good news for the budding entrepreneurs as the growth-stage startups from Pakistan will now be able to apply for the Google Launchpad Accelerator programme.

Under the programme, the selected startups get the opportunity to collaborate with Google engineers, Silicon Valley experts, and top mentors from around the world. The program offers equity-free support, Google product credits, and an all-expense-paid training in San Francisco.

For the fifth batch of its Launchpad accelerator, Google has opened up application for more countries including Pakistan. The list of latest countries that can apply for Google’s programme are:

  • Asia: Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka & Myanmar

  • Central and Eastern Europe: Estonia, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus & Russia

  • Latin America: Costa Rica, Panama, Peru & Uruguay

  • Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Tanzania, Tunisia & Uganda


The application process for the equity-free program is closing on October 2, 2017, at 9PM Pakistan Standard Time. After being selected, the startups will be invited to the Google Developers Launchpad Space in San Francisco for two weeks of all-expense-paid training.

Participants will continue to work closely with Google back in their home country during the six month programme.

Eligibility:

The startups that wished to be considered for the coveted Google accelerator programme must fulfill the following requirements:

 

  • Be a technological startup.

  • Be targeting their local markets.

  • Have proven product-market fit (beyond ideation stage).

  • Be based in the countries eligible for the programme.


Further, Google is also interested in what kind of startups they are and also considers:

 

  • The problem startups are trying to solve. How does it create value for users? How are they addressing a real challenge for your home city, country or region?

  • Does the startup’s management team have a leadership mindset and the drive to become an influencer?



  • Will they share what they learn in Silicon Valley for the benefit of other startups in their local ecosystem?
