PESHAWAR: A 60-year-old man became the latest victim of dengue in Peshawar patient. His death on Tuesday took the overall death toll of dengue to 11.

Lal Bacha, a resident of Tehkal Payan, had been admitted to the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) on August 28, according to the daily progress report issued by the government.

While he received treatment, he succumbed to the virus on Tuesday.

The report added that a total of 1,794 patients were screened for the virus in the past 24 hours. Of these, 298 tested positive for dengue.

Apart from that, more than 153 new dengue patients were admitted to various health facilities across Peshawar where around 455 patients are receiving treatment, the report stated

So far 3,619 people have been found infected with the virus across the province. However, of these, 3,153 people have been discharged after being treated from various hospitals.
