Turkey: Highest award conferred on Zardari
President Abdullah Gul conferred the highest state order medal of Turkey.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul conferred the highest state order medal of Turkey, Devlet Nishan, on President Asif Ali Zardari in recognition of his efforts to promote bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey. Gul decorated President Zardari with the award at a special investiture ceremony held at Cankaya Presidential Palace on Wednesday night. Members of the Pakistani entourage, including cabinet ministers, ministers of Turkish cabinet and senior officers attended the ceremony. According to the citation President Zardari, was given the award for his contribution for enhancing mutual understanding and affinity between the two countries.
