KARACHI: After being hospitalised a couple of days earlier, WWE legend Ric Flair has been put in medically induced coma to prevent brain swelling. While the specific reason he was hospitalised is still unknown, the situation has been described as “extremely serious” by those close to him.

When on Sunday, Flair was hospitalised, it was downplayed as just a “routine” visit. However, his manager Melinda Moris Zanoni later on posted an update on Twitter saying, Flair was "dealing with some tough medical issues" and asked for people to send prayers.

It’s well known that the 16-time World Champion has been suffering cardiomyopathy because of long term alcohol abuse, which can result in heart failure. That may not only be it. Zanoni tweeted late Monday night that Flair just had a successful surgery, which was not heart-related and that there was a long road to recovery ahead. He is still said to be in a critical condition.
