An inter-union council cricket tournament and running of two decorated trucks on city roads planned

MULTAN: Multan Mayor Naveedul Haq Arain finalised the Independence Day celebrations plan that will begin on Thursday evening with an inter-union council cricket tournament and running of two decorated trucks on city roads playing national songs.

Independence Day preparations in full swing

The mayor will inaugurate a cricket tournament at Sports Ground first that will be played among the cricket teams of 68 union councils. The final match will be played on the evening of August 14. Moreover, two big vehicles of Multan Corporation, decorated with national flags, bunting and other material, will start moving on city roads playing national songs from Thursday night.

The flag hoisting ceremony will be held on the morning of August 14 at the Mayor Office that will be attended by the Mayor and all the chairmen of union councils. Another flag hoisting ceremony will be held at 9am at Municipal Corporation Office, Shah Rukn-e-Alam that will beat tended by deputy mayors and all the female chairmen of UCs. A special ceremony will be held on August 14 evening at Damdama, the highest place in Multan city at Fort Qasim.
