PESHAWAR: A worker of the PTI has approached a police station in Peshawar with the request to register an FIR against MNA Ayesha Gulalai for defaming the party and its chairman, Imran Khan.

Gulalai on August 1 quit the PTI after accusing Imran and his ‘gang’ of immoral behaviour against women. Gulalai had claimed that the PTI chief had been sending her obscene messages since 2013, a charge vehemently refuted by the PTI.

On Friday, Muhammad Amir Khan – chairman of the PTI’s Youth Revival Committee PTI – submitted an application to the SHO of Peshawar’s Hayatabad police station, requesting him to lodge an FIR against Gulalai.

Gulalai made allegations against Imran at Muqam and Reham's behest, claims PTI K-P MPA

Requesting to invoke Section 499/500 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), the application said Gulalai put him under immense mental agony as she “lied through electronic and print media by making false allegations against my party chairman Mr Imran Khan and my party PTI.”

When contacted, the SHO Hayatabad said they had received the application but it could not be entertained because it had no legal grounds. “[The PTI worker] has submitted an application but the crime has not been taken place in my area so he should instead go to the court and file a writ petition,” he said. “No FIR can be filed on the grounds provided in his application.”

Imran Malik | 6 years ago | Reply Let some digging to be done. Why not a Joint investigation team selected from Punjab police a parlimant member like Rehman Malik and Khawaja Asif and Umer from Geo. A doctor who can take Imran Khan blood test and father of Gulilalai to find if there is some hanky panky or it is truth. After all Supreme court has set these standards. Why not here. It may be called grandmother of Destiny.
Andrew | 6 years ago | Reply Whether or not Imran Khan is guilty or not is one question. However, the matter remains that Imran Khan should openly proclaim that a inquiry committee be created within the party to look into the truth or falsehood of the matter. His people and supporters should not go around denying or defaming or making any sort of comments regarding his professed innocence or guilt on the matter. Whatever is going on and is being displayed in the media is going against him in that he wants to have everyone checked but when his turn comes regarding being checked he and his supporters do not share the same desire. This matter should remain outside of the media till the result of the investigation are released. Furthermore, if one woman has been harassed or subjected to immoral messages and the other hasn't it doesn't for any reason absolve the accused of wrongdoing neither does it make the accuser a subject for speculation and defamation. This is wrong.
