"External forces behind violence in Karachi"

KARACHI:
Secretary General ANP Sindh Shahi Syed said that the violence in Karachi is being controlled by external forces on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Syed said that either the local administration was supporting the criminals or the criminals were extremely influential as none of them have been arrested so far.

Syed highlighted the fact that only Pakhtuns were targeted during the recent acts of violence in the city.

He said that the people who are trying to create an impression that Hazarawal and the Pakhtuns have differences are wrong.

MQM boycotts meeting


Earlier in the day, MQM boycotted the coordination committee meeting that was scheduled to be held in Chief Minister house.

This came after MQM’s demand to invite people of Hazara in the coordination committee was rejected by the coalition parties.

Chief Minister Sindh had called a meeting to review the situation in the city and PPP, MQM and ANP members were invited to attend.

Rehman Malik calls political leaders

Meanwhile Interior Minister Rehman Malik called called Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and ANP Sindh chief Shahi Syed on Thursday to discuss the law and order situation on the same day.

He assured the chief minister and the ANP chief that the government will not allow terrorists to destroy the peace in the city and that stern action would be taken against trouble makers
