DERA GHAZI KHAN: Umar Fidai, the surviving suicide bomber involved in the attack on the Sakhi Hasan shrine has been shifted to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan due to his precarious condition.

Fidai was shot and injured by police minutes after his two accomplices blew themselves up at the shrine, killing and maiming dozens of devotees. He confessed to his crime in media interviews and apologised to the nation. On Saturday, a medical board recommended that he be shifted to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan from Dera Ghazi Khan Central jail as his condition was critical. Subsequently, he was shifted to Multan amid tight security.

While speaking to Daily Express, Fidai said that he was satisfied with the medical facilities provided to him in jail.

Fidai’s wounded caused by a hand-grenade that had exploded in his hand had been infected and doctors fear that the infection could spread.
