Endangered Species: Fish class thrives on artificial breeding

Punjab fisheries department has successfully completed a venture for artificial breeding.

LAHORE:
Punjab fisheries department has successfully completed a venture for artificial breeding of an endangered specie called ‘Jhalli fish’.

Director of General Fisheries Muhammad Ashraf said experts of the department were engaged in artificial breeding of the Jhalli Fish for the past year at Chashma Bio-diversity Hatchery, adding that they were highly successful in this regard.


He said that the said specie was also found in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Thailand, adding that its flesh is known for its taste and energy.
