PPP govt taking effective steps: Awan

Awan says government taking effective steps for the development and economic empowerment of the women.

SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Saturday that the government was taking effective steps for the development and economic empowerment of the women.

Addressing a gathering of women at Bahadurpur near Head Marala, she said that they (women) should work shoulder to shoulder with men for the development of the country as progress was impossible without their involvement in the mainstream .

The PPP government, in line with the mission of Benazir Bhutto, was striving hard to empower women and get them their due status in the society, she added.
