IMF Talks: Economic team to leave for US

Delegation of economists, headed by the finance minister, will leave for the US to meet IMF officials.

A high-level delegation of economists, headed by Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, will leave for the US on Tuesday to meet International Monetary Fund (IMF) officials. An official of the Ministry of Finance told The Express Tribune that the delegation will present the domestic economic statistic of the first nine months of current fiscal year at the meeting.



The official informed that the Pakistani team has finalised a report on economic statistics for the meetings that are scheduled for 14 April to 18 April, in Washington.

The report being prepared will decide the fate of the pending $1.7b installment of $11.2 billion IMF loan.
