Style Anatomy: Noor Sattar

The talent behind the fashion brand Leelas, who studied Law from SOAS in London, and later Fashion Design from Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, talks to us about her personal style!

Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type?

I would say I’m petite.

Has your body type changed over the last five years?

My body is pretty much the same, but I have recently adopted a healthier lifestyle, and going to CORE is now my favourite morning activity.



How has your style changed over the years?

Having lived in three of the largest metropolitan cities in the world (London, New York City and Karachi) my style has definitely evolved overtime with exposure and experience to different cultures. However, I’ve stayed true to my classic style so I don’t believe a person’s signature style necessarily changes. I strongly believe fashion is what’s trending, but style is what you pick for yourself.

In your opinion what is your most troublesome area?

I believe I don’t have a troublesome area and I also believe others should adopt the same ideology – love yourself!

How do you dress your body according to your body type?

I don’t dress according to any specific body type, I dress according to what I want to project, which is how I perceive myself.



In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here?

I think succumbing to pressure and adopting something just because it’s ‘fashionable’ or ‘designer’ makes one lose their identity.

Which silhouettes suit your body the most?

Whatever the requirement of the day is, but my guilty pleasure is high-waisted pants.

What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?

Anything that’s inappropriate for the occasion, and by inappropriate I mean whatever I think is inappropriate.
