Alleged Corruption: Officer held for stealing wheat bags

District Food Controller into custody for allegedly misappropriating 659,900 empty bags meant for wheat growers.

NAWABSHAH: The District Food Controller was taken into custody by the Anti-Corruption Police for allegedly misappropriating 659,900 empty bags meant for wheat growers.

At a joint press conference, Anti-Corruption Circle Officer Mazhar Hussain Hisbani and Deputy Director, Hyderabad, Nisar Brohi said that the district food department has no record of the missing bags.

Each bag costs Rs106 and the total cost comes to around Rs69 million. The food controller has, however, denied all charges.
