SUKKUR:
Sindh Assembly members (MPAs) have lauded the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between the Three Gorges Project Corporation and water and power authorities.

This is the first step towards the construction of a 120MW power plant at Sukkur Barrage.

The plant will be able to produce a maximum of 150MW. MPA Rai Naz Bozdar pointed to some potential problems with the proposed plant.

She said that residents of lower Sindh may be affected and the present distribution of water to Balochistan from the Sukkur Barrage could be reduced.
