RAWALPINDI:
A traders’ body on Friday demanded that the provincial government shift the poultry market in Bagh Sardaran to a place outside the city limits. Traders Welfare Association President Sharjeel Mir said that the chicken market located in the heart of the congested locality was a potential health hazard for the densely populated neighbourhoods surrounding the market. He added that chicken waste was the main source of diseases which affect the health of children as well as adults. He suggested that the market should be shifted away from the city to the Islamabad Motorway Interchange. He hoped that the district government would take the required steps.
