Four people were arrested and seven shops sealed during crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses

MULTAN: Authorities in Multan have launched a crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses and confiscated 5,200 kilogrammes of unhygienic meat.

The move came on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Multan Nadir Chatha in which four people were arrested and seven meat shops sealed.

The crackdown against illegal slaughter of animals in the walled city (Hano ka Chaja) and Awan Pura areas of the city was carried out by Multan Municipal Corporation  Chief Officer Ahmed Khan Watoo, Deputy Director Tahir, Dr Mehtab, Dr Usman, Dr Jawad, Dr Fahad of the Livestock Department, the Civil Defence staff and DSP Mustafa Pehwar.
