Machinery Breakdown: Minister takes note of passport delays

Malik takes a serious notice of delay in issuance of passports.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Thursday took a serious notice of delay in issuance of passports and directed the department of immigration and passports to resolve the issue immediately.

It may be mentioned that the passport issuance process had been delayed due to a machinery breakdown.

The new machinery has now been procured and installed, and the system is fully operational. The backlog piled up will be cleared within the next two weeks.
