ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army on Sunday decimated two Indian posts which were targeting civilians on the Pakistani side of the Line of Control and killed four Indian soldiers in the process, Inter-Services Public Relations said.
The military’s media wing also released video footage showing the two bunkers being destroyed by Pakistan Army’s precision artillery fire.
“In utter failure to cap remembrance of Wani's shahadat, Indian forces targeted innocent civilians along the LoC. Indian guns silenced effectively,” ISPR Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor tweeted while sharing the video.
“Pakistan Army stands by the innocent civilian population against unprovoked Indian ceasefire violations and would continue to respond befittingly to this naked aggression,” he added in another tweet.

A statement released by ISPR said Pakistan Army responded befittingly on Sunday to unprovoked Indian firing across the LoC on Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani’s death anniversary the day before.
“On the death anniversary of Kashmiri hero Burhan Wani Shaheed on July 8, when Kashmiris all over the world were protesting against Indian atrocities, Indian Army initiated unprovoked fire across the LoC in Rawalakot Sector, targeting the innocent civilian population in the Tetrinote, Manwa, Satwal and Chaffar villages with mortars and rockets, which resulting in the death of five innocent citizens, including four women and an old man, and injured another five people, including three young girls,” the ISPR statement said.

“Pakistan Army befittingly responded on July 9, causing substantial losses to men and material. Two Indian Army posts firing on innocent civilians have been destroyed. Four Indian soldiers killed,” it said, adding that the Pakistan Army will continue to protect civilians from unprovoked Indian aggression at all cost.
Indian envoy summoned again
Pakistan on Sunday summoned the Indian deputy high commissioner (DHC) again to record a protest against unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian troops, which resulted in civilian casualties.
Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal summoned the Indian DHC JP Singh and condemned unprovoked Indian firing in Chirikot and Satwal Sectors on Saturday, a statement issued by the Foreign Office said.

Dr Faisal urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement, to investigate this and other ceasefire violations, and to instruct Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit to maintain peace along the LoC.
Categorically rejecting the routine Indian allegations of infiltration across the LoC, the DG (SA & SAARC) emphasised that Pakistan had consistently maintained that it was essential to allow UNMOGIP to play its role as mandated by UN Security Council resolutions.
“It is India which on the one hand routinely alleges infiltration attempts and yet paradoxically keeps UNMOGIP from performing its duties,: he added.
Dr Faisal also stated that Indian attempts to deflect international attention from the worsening situation in Occupied Kashmir due to its repressive measures shall fail. He said that the deliberate targeting of civilians was deplorable and contrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws.
