A man, who was facing charges of selling narcotics, managed to escape from police custody on Thursday. The Naseerabad police were taking Hassan Sher Dil the under-trial prisoner to the district court to obtain his physical remand. When the stopped at a traffic signal near the Race Course Ground on Peshawar Road, Dil managed to slip his shackles, dodge his police escorts SI Muhammad Afzal and Constable Aslam, and flee. The two policemen chased the suspect but could not catch him. Subsequently, the Westridge police arrested SI Afzal and Constable Aslam and lodged criminal cases against them for negligence.
