11 policemen suspended after accident in Lahore
LAHORE:
11 traffic policemen have been suspended after 5 students were killed in a road accident near Jinnah Hospital in Lahore on Wednesday.
The accident was caused by a speeding vehicle crashing into an underpass.
Witnesses say several students were seated on the rooftop of the bus, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a barrier of the underpass, the driver managed to flee the scene after the crash.
Four students died on the spot; while one died in the hospital later. Two students are reported to be in critical condition.
Police are searching for the driver, while the road has been cleared for traffic.
