Anti-corruption officials arrest the two men in Lodhran

MULTAN: A junior clerk at Government Degree College and the tehsil sanitary inspector in Lodhran District were arrested for taking bribes on Monday.

Lodhran Anti-Corruption Circle Assistant Director Muhammad conducted a raid under the supervision of Special Judicial Magistrate Saeed Ilyas Mian at Government Degree College and nabbed Junior Clerk Waseem Akhtar for taking a bribe from a student. Muhammad said that the suspect made a deal with the student under which he would take Rs5,000 in exchange for a copy of the question paper ahead of each exam.

In another raid, sanitary inspector Rizwan Babar was arrested by anti-corruption officials. Babar conducted a raid at a factory for producing substandard material but did he seal the factory or register a case. According to anti-corruption officials, Babar called factory owner Muhammad Khalid to his office and asked him to pay a bribe of Rs50,000. Khalid informed the anti-corruption officials, who arrested the tehsil sanitary inspector and seized the bribe money.
