Barring a few geniuses, no one gave Pakistan a chance against England in their 2017 ICC Champions Trophy semi-final in Cardiff on Wednesday.

But Sarfraz's men did do the unthinkable, trouncing their mighty English counterparts by eight wickets.

As expected, Twitter was abuzz with current and ex-cricketers giving their two cents on a result very few saw coming.

And if you're not a Twitterati and missed most of what went down, don't fret we've got you covered.

The result may have been an upset to some, but not to England's very own Kevin Pietersen, who has a firsthand experience of Pakistan's cricket talent.

Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara was clearly impressed.

And so was spin king Saeed Ajmal who was so stoked he didn't even realize he had plagiarised Sangakkara's entire tweet.

Kiwi great Brendon McCullum sent his kudos to Lahore Qalandar teammates Azhar Ali and Fakhar Zaman.

South Africa pacer Dale Steyn wasn't far behind in singing Pakistan's praise.

However, legendary all-rounder Wasim Akram reminded the team the job isn't done yet.

Akram's former partner in crime Waqar Younis was in more confrontational mood, warning the English captain Eoin Morgan to admit they've been defeated 'fair and square.'

Chief selector Inzamamul Haq used the occasion to remind cricket fraternity why international cricket should return to Pakistan.

Cricketer-turned-pundit Ramiz Raja credited Sarfraz for turning youngsters into world-beaters.

The outstanding ascent of Sarfraz's men even forced their female counterparts to laud their efforts.

Leg spinner Usama Mir wasn't a part of the tournament but he still came out in support of the boys.
