ATC awards life term to two convicts in murder case
Ramzan, Sajjad, Bashir and Mukhtiar had thrown acid on their brother Tariq for supporting their sister's marriage

An Anti-Terrorism Court awarded life imprisonment to two men and acquitted two others in a murder case in Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday. The judgment was announced by ATC Judge Shakir Hassan.
The prosecution told the court that accused Muhammad Ramzan, Sajjad, Bashir and Mukhtiar had thrown acid on their brother Muhammad Tariq for supporting their sister Bashiran Bibi’s marriage against the will of the family.
The incident took place on June 17, 2016 in the precincts of the Layyah police station. The victim was admitted to the hospital for treatment but he breathed his last after a few days.
Woman arrested for plotting murder
The police arrested the accused and produced them before the court. After hearing the arguments, the ATC judge ordered that accused Muhammad Ramzan and Sajjad were found guilty of the offence and awarded life term to them. The court acquitted Bashir and Mukhtiar for lack of evidence. The court also imposed a fine of Rso.2 million on the convicts.
Earlier, an additional and sessions court awarded death sentence to a man in a murder case in Dera Ghazi Khan. Additional District and Sessions judge Khizar Hayat handed down the death sentence to Muhammad Farooq, who along with his son Saifuddin, had opened fire on Hasan and his sons Majid and Qasim. The victims suffered bullet injuries and Majid died at a hospital during treatment.
