Ten million rupees would be spent on tables, chairs, sofa sets and visiting chairs for the Project Management Unit.
While another Rs10 million would be dispensed to procure air conditioners, curtains, as well as, pay office rent and networking of the office.
The Project Cycle (PC)-1 of the project prepared in March of this year, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, has details of the aforementioned costs.
The provincial government has given the green light for the Rs57 billion BRT project in Peshawar. Some Rs48 billion have been provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as a soft loan while the remaining funds were generated by the K-P government.
The size of the office accommodation would be 20,000 square feet and total rent for a total of 24 months will be Rs8 million.

The documents state that Rs5 million will be set aside for office and building equipment while Rs3 million will be spent on office stationery.
However, the details do not include what field equipment or stationery would be needed for the project.
Similarly, the documents do not have details of the Rs10 million to be spent on purchasing ACs, curtains and networking for the office.
Moreover, 16 vehicles ranging from 1,000cc to 2,400cc will be purchased for project officers of various cadre at a cost of Rs25.9 million.
The documents also reveal that the purchase a five-door vehicle worth Rs5.5 million has been proposed for the BRT project director.
Five vehicles with a 1,300cc engine capacity would be procured at Rs2 million each for public transport office expert, senior traffic engineer, chief finance officer, procurement and contract engineer, and a senior GIS specialist.

Ten more vehicles are to be purchased for different officers for one million rupees each.
Furthermore, Rs0.4 million has been proposed to purchase four motorbikes for mail carriers.
BRT Project Director Sajjad Ahmad was not available for comment.
