Boney Kapoor lauds Sajal Aly and Adnan Siddiqui in 'Mom'

The producer said it's yet to be decided whether the Pakistani stars will be a part of the promotional events

Sajal Aly and Adnan Siddiqui's Bollywood debut, Mom, is swathed in mystery. We know nothing about the plot so far, except that it is a mother-daughter story and for a change, there are pretty strong male characters in this chick flick.

“We have two very talented actors Sajal and Adnan who are unfortunately not here (to promote the film) but their contribution to the film is immense," the producer of the movie, Boney Kapoor, said.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, while talking to the press at the trailer launch of the movie, which also stars Sridevi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles, Boney added, "We miss them today. They have given their best for the film and I am sure we all will like what they have done."

He further added that it is yet to be decided whether Sajal and Adnan will be a part of the promotional events.

“I have not put my mind on it as we are finishing the film, the post production is on. They worked on the film and their contribution will remain,” he said.

Talking about his wife, Sridevi, who is the lead of the movie, Boney expressed his gratitude, saying, “My wife is the soul of my life and she is my life and thanks to her that I am here today sitting and smiling. My wife has put in tremendous effort as she always does but this one is special as the moment she heard the script, she was attached to it."

He went on to say, “She was so deeply involved in the film that she wanted to be the mom, the character and not my wife."

The film, directed by Ravi Udyawar, is set to release on July 7.
