Vidya Balan all praise for Saba Qamar in 'Hindi Medium'

Saba Qamar's Bollywood debut, Hindi Medium, has been lauded here and across the border alike.

Where an open letter by an Indian journalist praising Saba’s performance recently went viral, it is now the appreciation from none other than class act Vidya Balan that has gotten everyone’s attention.

Saba took to Instagram to share her excitement about what seems like a WhatsApp message from the Kahaani star.



"Watched Hindi Medium today and took your number from Zeenat. Just wanted to tell you that you were amazing in the film. It's a character one could dislike so easily for being pushy but you humanized her and make her believable and likable! Really, wow!" wrote Vidya.

A thrilled Saba posted a picture of Vidya's message with caption, "I still can't believe that I spoke to THE Vidya Balan. Being praised by one of the best actresses of Bollywood is a huge deal for me. I'm truly touched and honoured."



She went on to say, "Such a sweet gesture by her to take out the time to appreciate my work. It's the best feeling ever when someone you admire so much, praises and appreciates your work. You're beautiful inside out. Thank you! Loads of love!"

Last year, Vidya made headlines when she expressed her love for Pakistani dramas. She complimented the female stars of the drama industry, saying, "I particularly like the female actors…so beautiful and graceful…and their portrayals are extremely realistic.”

Saba’s launch film in Bollywood, Hindi Medium is a lighthearted romantic film about a young couple in Chandni Chowk, who aspire to move into society’s upper crust.

The film has served as a perfect launch pad for the Lahore Say Aagay actor and only time will tell where her Bollywood flight lands next.
