BANGKOK: This is with reference to the story “Thai troops violate law in Bangkok action: Amnesty” (May 18).
I disagree with the statement given by Amnesty International’s Thailand Specialist Benjamin Zawacki. The Red Shirts are well-armed and well-organised and their aim is to disrupt Thailand’s society and economy. They do not have any positive impact and are in fact only making life very difficult for the residents of Bangkok. Mr Zawacki should take it from me — I live in the centre of Bangkok.
