ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) has established a Sasta Bazaar in Sector G-7 to provide commodities at cheaper rates to the citizens during the holy month of Ramazan.

The market was inaugurated by Islamabad Mayor and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz. He said that the market had been set up on the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to provide edible items are affordable rates and in sufficient quantity.

While visiting the various stalls at the market, the mayor directed officials to ensure the provision of quality edible items including fresh fruits and vegetables in these markets on concessional rates throughout the holy month.

He further directed the concerned officers to ensure that their staff is present at the markets to address any complaints from the consumers on the spot. Aziz also directed officials to ensure that they strictly monitor activities at the markets and ensure constant vigilance so that residents could safely shop at the bazaars.

He warned that strict action would be taken against those found overcharging or misbehaving with consumers. Moreover, Aziz directed that rate list should be displayed at stalls at the Sasta Bazaars, adding that prices of edible items particularly of fruits, vegetables and drinks were nominal when compared to the local market.
