LHC grants bail to actress

Stage actress Honey Shehzadi is accused of attempted murder

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court granted bail on Monday to stage actress Honey Shehzadi who is accused of attempted murder.  The court also ordered to the police to submit the record of the case by June 5. The actress approached the LHC, seeking pre-arrest bail in a case registered against her over charges of firing at a man. Her counsel said the police implicated her in a fabricated case. He added the applicant was not involved in any illegal activity. He said Johar Town police lodged an FIR against her after accusing the actress of firing at complainant Mehmood Ahmad Bhatti. He requested she be granted pre-arrest bail. Earlier, an additional district and sessions judge turned down her request for bail. In 2014, a sister-in-law and a security guard of Honey Shehzadi died after unidentified men shot at her house on Sunday. Police said two children were also injured in the incident. Police said at the time that unidentified men attacked the house.
