LPG prices jump by Rs4 per kg

Sales drop 60 per cent in 10 months, expected to fall further.

Prices of locally produced liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) have been increased in line with the Saudi Aramco contract price, despite having no link with the international market, distributors said.



The price for April has reached Rs84,536 per ton, an increase of Rs3,894, days after price of imported LPG was also increased. All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association Chairman Abdul Hadi Khan informed that the price of LPG has increased by Rs4 per kg while the price of 11.8kg cylinder has increased by Rs46 and that of 45.4kg cylinder by Rs177.

Khan claimed sales of gas have dropped by 60 per cent during the last 10 months, adding that a further drop of up to 15 per cent in sales was expected after the latest increase.
