5am
Sleeping…
8am
First alarm – snooze! At 8:30am the second alarm rings – snooze again.
9am
I wake up and start my morning routine. I spend about 10 minutes oil pulling daily, and then continue with my normal routine – brush/floss, a bit of skin care, make my hair presentable usually in a braid etc. I drink warm water with a tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar and lots of water after.
9:30am
I prep my studio for my upcoming class, and do a few stretches to start warming up.

10am
Time for my morning yoga class!
11am
The class ends and the students leave. I stay for a while longer, doing my own personal practice and finish off with a nice, long meditation to start my day on a good note.
12noon
I take a body shower and eat my first meal. It’s usually a big glass of vegetable juice and depending on how intense my class has been, some eggs cooked in coconut oil. I then have my cup of tea, which is an essential.
1pm
I head into a meeting for an upcoming project that involves a college drive across Karachi. Here I talk to girls about beauty, skin and hair care, fitness and health.
2pm
I’m still at the meeting!

3pm
I get back home and have another cup of tea with a platter of fruit, and put on an episode of Gilmore Girls — my pet cat usually accompanies me.
5pm
I go to a nearby park for a quick jog.
6pm
I start prepping for my evening yoga class, which starts at 6:30pm.
7pm
I’m in class. Usually the students stay back for another 10 to 15 minutes after class to ask questions or discuss something.
8pm
I take a shower and then eat dinner with my husband. Stir-fry vegetables cooked in coconut oil makes for the perfect meal.
9pm
Wind down and read a book – I’m currently reading Women Who Run With The Wolves, which was recommended to me by my best friend.
10pm
I watch an episode or a movie with my husband. He’s vetoed Gilmore Girls, so there’s usually an argument about what to watch at this time.
11pm
I do my skin care routine. I put on a volcanic mud mask that leaves my skin feeling yummy, and put oil in my hair and leave it overnight since I don’t have my morning class the next day. After I wash the mask off, I put Vitamin-C essence on my face and top it off with apricot oil.
12am
Lights out.
