BAHAWALPUR: We will maintain foolproof security at public places, including mosques and Imambargahs during Ramazan and negligence will not be tolerated in this regard.

This was said by District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Akhtar Abbas while addressing the meeting of SDPOs, SHOs and other officials the other day. He said the safety of mosques and Imambargahs should be given priority while foreign engineers working on sensitive installations in the district should be provided protection.

He added check posts should be established and all vehicles should be checked at all entry and exit points. The DPO maintained as part of the National Action Plan, verification of people should be carried out through biometric system.

“SHOs should behave properly with the complainants and take action according to the law. The SHO should also reach the spot and cooperate with the victims,” Abbas instructed the officials.
