Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Tahir Khan and Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Sajjad Khan told reporters that the explosives were found at the house of a terrorist, Hunzala, in Shamshato Refugee Camp, an area falling within the jurisdiction of the Mattani police station.
Around 400 kilogrammes of explosives, 12 grenades, a pistol with a silencer, 10 pocket phones, 42 detonators and transmitters and batteries were seized.
"We had received information about terrorists storing explosive material and weapons and ammunition," the CCPO said.

“They [the terrorists] were planning to carry out attacks in Peshawar but the police prevented that by timely conducting the raid," he added.
The official said a terrorist was arrested in the raid and the police were interrogating him.
Replying to a question, the CCPO said it was too early to confirm as to which organisation the arrested man was affiliated with.
