Dubious land deal: Moonis sent on 14-day judicial remand

Judicial magistrate sends Moonis Elahi to camp jail on 14-day judicial remand in NICL scam.

A judicial magistrate on Friday sent Moonis Elahi to camp jail on a 14-day judicial remand in NICL land scam after the completion of his 14-day physical remand to the FIA.

However, Moonis’ lawyer told the court that the Punjab Home Department had ordered to shift Moonis to a NADRA rest house declaring it a sub-jail owing to security reasons.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) produced Moonis Elahi in Judicial magistrate Muhammad Irfan Bassra’s court three hours late.

A large number of PML-Q leaders and workers, present inside the court premises, showered rose petals on him.

The Additional District Public Prosecutor, Fakhar Abbas, submitted a letter before the judge and urged the court to declare the rest house a sub-jail, insisting that this was being done after the Punjab home secretary received a letter from the ministry of interior’s National Crisis Management Cell, which said that there was a threat to Moonis life.

Meanwhile, Moonis again told the judge that the FIA had no evidence about his involvement in the case.

Naveed Akhter | 13 years ago | Reply Moonis Elahi is under FIA and Judicial Remand since more then 2 weeks. While the recovery of this case has been already made from the person who struck this deal and Moonis Elahi has no connection what so ever with this case. So why FIA is behind him? why they need to investigate him? It is just not understandable thing that FIA is investigating a case of NICL but they are asking the Utilities bill from Moonis Elahi and asking the the questions which absolutely not related to this case. In 14 days remand FIA failed to produce anything against Moonis Elahi and it is not 100% clear that Moonis Elahi is a only "Political Prisoner" in this Democratic Era.

Both don't want to sit or stand together then how Sharif's will provide comfort to Moonis Elahi. Getting the rest house in the right of Moonis Elahi. Don't u know that the request to Shifting Moonis Elahi to rest house is made by federal government and by FIA. He didn't demanded that and he is shifted there because of life threats to him.
