While her looks are eagerly awaited, let us take a walk down the memory lane and reminisce about the best and worst ones she’s had on the Cannes red carpet.
One day I'll walk the red carpet in a white shirt and jeans: Aishwarya Rai
BEST:
1. Elie Saab Rose Gold creation (2016)
The former Miss World looked stunning in an embellished pink-gold Elie Saab gown, turning heads on the red carpet while attending the premiere of Steven Spielberg’s The BFG.
2. Ralph and Russo dramatic gown (2015)
Aishwarya showed some leg in a dramatic Ralph and Russo gown as she attended the Youth premiere at the French film festival. With minimal make-up and accessories and loosely curled hair, she certainly looked drop-dead gorgeous.
Bollywood actresses fail to impress at Cannes
3. Elie Saab one-shouldered peplum (2011)
The Bollywood beauty’s one-shouldered peplum gown was an instant hit at the event. Her lose bun complemented the effortless look.
WORST:
1. The Purple lipstick (2016)
Aishwarya’s unnecessarily bold look on her last day at the 69th Cannes Film Festival left everyone shocked. Even though her Rami Kadi gown was beautiful, it was her lips that grabbed the attention and even made headlines as she attended the premiere of From the Land of The Moon and Ash became a subject for trolls and memes everywhere.

2. Gucci teal gown (2013)
Our eyes almost popped out of their sockets when we saw Aish in a bright teal Gucci gown with hot pink lips at the premiere of Cleopatra. The make-up was a disaster and the up-do was too high. A softer bun would have made a better option.
3. Black Sabyasachi sari (2013)
Guess 2013 just wasn’t Aish’s year! This boring black sari with golden embroidery didn’t do her justice, especially when paired with a weird gold hair piece. The sari itself might have been gorgeous but the hair and make-up ruined Ash’s look.
We hope Ash learns from her past blunders and wows us with some jaw-dropping good looks!
