PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of K-P Police Salahuddin Khan on Monday awarded officials of the Counter Terrorism Department for the safe recovery of six abductees as well as arresting the kidnappers involved in these cases.

In the first quarter of the year, Ayaz had been kidnapped from within the remits of the Faqirabad police station, Zulfiqar from Gulberg, Abdul Wahid from Chamkani, Imran from Pahari Pura and Abbas from Swabi.

The kidnappers were demanding millions in ransom for their safe release. The CTD team in different raids conducted in the province managed to recover all six abductees safely and arrested a majority of the groups of kidnappers involved in these cases. One the abductees from Swabi was recovered in handcuffs.

All the arrested kidnappers had confessed their crimes before the court while the abductees had also identified their abductors during court proceedings.
