G-B welcomes withdrawal of NoC condition

ISLAMABAD: People from all walks of life have hailed the decision of removal of no objection certificate (NoC) condition from foreign tourists visiting Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B).

Governor G-B Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan said the decision will encourage tourism industry in the region. Senior Minister Gilgit Baltistan assembly Akbar Taban said the decision will increase tourist flow and generate economic activities.

Information Minister Iqbal Hassan said Federal Government is taking interest to promote tourism and removal of NoC condition is proof of it.

Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar while talking to the media on Thursday had said that the condition of  NoC for tourists to visit G-B has been withdrawn.

However, he said, the  diplomats, International NGOs, research workers and project related foreigners working in Gilgit-Baltistan would require security clearance before visiting the region.
