Huge loss: Locals irked by illegal logging

Local leaders say despite a ban by the government, illegal cutting of trees and firewood continued in their areas

ASTORE: The people of Pareshing have expressed their great displeasure and concern over illegal cutting of forest wood by unknown persons in their area. Local community leaders Jamshid Khan, Jam Khan, Saber khan and Syed Alam said that despite a ban by the government and presence of forest guards in the area, illegal cutting of trees and firewood continued causing great loss to the forests. They said that due to nonstop logging, the natural beauty of the area and wildlife was badly affected which need attention from the concerned authorities.
