Almost every Karachi kid from the 90s has heard the story of a churail [witch] in a red bridal outfit, waiting to terrorise the next passer-by near the haunted Lal Kothi on Shahra-e-Faisal. But what do you do when you see a witch sitting on a wall in the middle of the night?

Was it a djinn or genetics that was responsible for his strange behaviour?

The answer in this day and age is: take pictures of the churail, be it real or fake, and share it on social media. A similar case emerged when pop singer Faakhir Mehmood shared a picture of a 'witch' sitting on a wall in 'Hyderabad', seeking confirmation whether it was real or not. It did not take long for the picture to go viral as some believed it, while others came up with their own theories.

Faakhir, a quick Google search would have answered your question. Nevertheless, we made the effort for you. According to several websites, the picture originated in Morocco, and not Hyderabad. Also, the churail is actually just a doll, which was reportedly used by thieves to distract people while they robbed houses.
