Census team accuses lawmaker of non-cooperation

RAWALPINDI: A census team on Saturday complained to the police that a female member of Punjab assembly from the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had refused to provide information about her family members during the ongoing headcount.

The police, however, are still evaluating the complaint lodged by census team before initiating legal action against the lawmaker.

According to available details, a census team went to the Tariqabad police post within the remits of Civil Lines police station and complained that when they visited the home of PML-N MPA Sobia Satti in Shaheed Colony to collect the details about her family, the lawmaker refused to provide them with any information.

Later, SI Mazhar Hussain of the Tariqabad police post visited the lawmaker to probe the matter. He later told his superiors about the complaint but officials were still evaluating the complaint till the filing of this report.
