The PTI accused the police of torturing and humiliating Hassan and later releasing embarrassing footage of Hassan's confession and pleas for mercy on social media. Zaid, along with five other persons including his son, is booked in an FIR at the Kunri police station for charging the station, occupying the SHO's seat and assaulting policemen.
Zaid and four others, whose names were revealed by Hassan to the police, remain at large. They have been identified as Agha Asif Pathan, Yaqoob Solangi, Ismail Rind and Gulji Bheel.

Meanwhile, Mirpurkhas DIG Javed Alam Odho has constituted a committee headed by Umerkot SSP Usman Aijaz Bajwa to probe the case. Three subordinate police officers, Mirpurkhas ASP Tasawar Iqbal, Umerkot DSP Fazal Haq Chandio and Pithoro police station SHO Vijay Kumar, are three other members of the committee.
Talking to the media in Mirpurkhas, Hassan's lawyer, Advocate Waqar Ali, argued that the FIR did not contain sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act yet the police obtained his client's remand from an ATC.
In a statement, PTI Sindh chapter leader Haleem Adil Shaikh condemned Zaid's act. But, he also accused the police of beating and humiliating Hassan as a punishment for his father's deeds.
