KARACHI:
Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) will avoid resorting to protests that resulted in creating public nuisance, PSP’s chairperson Mustafa Kamal said on Sunday.

“I do not want to make any political point scoring on basic public issues affecting the people of Karachi.”

Another MQM MPA jumps ship to PSP

Speaking to a gathering of his supporters in Korangi, part of a campaign to engage public for civic rights, Kamal said that if his party started walking towards the ‘Red Zone’, it would be a sensational news. “But in the end, core issues will remain unaddressed.”

Urging people to join his May 14 ‘Million March’, he said that it would be staged for basic rights to safe drinking water, power, education, and health.

“These are the rights that taxpayers of this city have been deprived of.”
PSP protest enters third day

“The local government has been deprived of all civic institutions. A specific elite class is reaping benefits on our resources,” he said.

Criticising the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), he said that MQM exploited public confidence for decades, adding that he would not allow such things to happen again.

“Two of our generations have already been abused and I want to save the next generation from the same fate,” he said, adding that the ‘Muhajir card’ should never be used in politics.

“Instead, people must forge unity under the country’s flag.”
