Meanwhile, party leaders at the central protest camp outside the Karachi Press Club also met people coming to express their solidarity with them. Those who called on them included the business community of the city.

PSP Chairperson Mustafa Kamal reiterated that the campaign will continue until the fulfilment of their demands. The government must take notice of the worsening situation of the city, he said.

Pak Sarzameem Party wins over another MQM MPA

The simultaneous launch of protest campaigns across the city by PSP, Muttahida Qaumi Movement - Pakistan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami is giving an impression that the contest to claim political space in Karachi has entered its final phase.
The general elections are due to be held in 2018 and since the MQM, which held sway in the metropolis for over three decades, has become weak, other parties are looking to fill the vacuum.
