Maldives foreign minister to arrive today

Maldivian foreign minister is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister of Maldives Mohamed Asim will arrive in Pakistan today [Sunday] for a three day-visit.

According to an official release, the Maldivian foreign minister is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.

The visiting dignitary will call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and various aspects of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Maldives will be reviewed during the visit.

“Bilateral relations between Pakistan and the Maldives are characterised by cordiality, mutual respect and commonality of interests. Both countries are bound in fraternal bonds of common faith and continue to support each other at various international fora. The visit will help in the further strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries,” the press release said.
