Mercury downed: Thunderstorm breaks heat spell

Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted more rainfall during the next 48 hours

LAHORE: Lahori’ites breathed a sigh of relief as a thunderstorm broke the long spell of warm weather, bringing down the soaring temperatures.

Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted more rainfall during the next 48 hours.

According to the MET Office, the temperature in Lahore dropped to 26 degree Celsius on Saturday after the spell of rainfall.

The current spell can continue till Monday and showers are expected. The temperature will remain mild during the next 48 hours.

Other parts of the province also experienced rainfall and a drop in temperature.

During the next 48 hours, rainfall accompanied with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in districts of Punjab.

During the past 24 hours, the PMD recorded rain with thunderstorm at isolated places in Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Khushab, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Sialkot, Gujrat, Bhakkar and Kasur districts.
