LAHORE: Taking notice of reports on a minor thalassemia patient getting treatment on hospital floor, the Punjab government has formed a committee to investigate into the allegations. On Thursday, Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir held a video conference with Narowal Health CEO, Shakargarh THQ Hospital medical superintendent, the deputy district officer and the grandfather of the patient to discuss the incident of the child receiving blood transfusion on the floor. The minister was informed the episode did not occur due to a lack of hospital beds. The grandfather said he had been accompanying the boy regularly to the hospital. On April 18, the patient got irritated during the transfusion process so he lay down on the floor out of frustration in protest.
